Planning your stay
Do we need to rent a car?
A rental car is not essential for arriving at Villa Kudu, as your airport transfer is included. However, we do recommend having a car if you would like the freedom to explore Hoedspruit and the surrounding area independently. Car rental companies are available at Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport, and our team can help you plan your transport before arrival.
Do we need malaria medication or vaccinations?
Parts of Limpopo and the Greater Kruger region are malaria-risk areas, and the level of risk varies by season and exact location. Because health recommendations depend on your personal circumstances and travel plans, we recommend speaking to your doctor or a recognised travel-health professional before travelling and following the latest official advice.
What is the best time to visit Hoedspruit?
Hoedspruit is a year-round destination. The dry winter months generally offer excellent wildlife viewing and cooler conditions, while summer brings greener landscapes, warmer temperatures and abundant birdlife. The best time therefore depends on the type of experience you prefer.
What makes Villa Kudu different from a safari lodge?
Villa Kudu gives you the privacy of a villa reserved entirely for your own group while still providing the comfort of personal service. Instead of following a fixed lodge program, you decide how each day looks. Safari, dining and other experiences can be arranged around your group, while quieter days can simply be spent enjoying the villa.

Hoedspruit has its own airport, Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (HDS), with scheduled connections including Johannesburg and Cape Town. Villa Kudu is approximately a 20-minute drive from the airport. Your airport meet & greet and transfer to Villa Kudu are included in your stay.
