How do we get to Villa Kudu?

Hoedspruit has his own airport (Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport) and offers direct flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town. From the airport, it is only a 20-minute drive to Villa Kudu. Airport transfers to the villa are included in your stay. If you wish to rent a car during your visit, rental agencies such as Europcar, Budget and Avis are located directly at the airport.

How many nights should we stay at Villa Kudu?

For a complete luxury safari experience near Kruger National Park, a minimum stay of seven days is recommended to fully enjoy the luxury safari experience and everything the Hoedspruit and Greater Kruger region has to offer. Many guests choose to stay 10 to 12 days to experience the region at a relaxed pace.

During low season, the minimum stay is 7 nights, while during peak season this may extend to 9 nights. Shorter stays are possible but will be charged as a 7-night booking. What is the price per night at Villa Kudu?

Rates vary depending on the season and length of your stay, and generally range between €180–€200 per person per night (based on a full occupancy of 8 persons) This includes breakfast, housekeeping, facilities and services in the villa, but excludes additional meals and drinks. What facilities are included in our stay?

In addition to our services, guests can make full use of the villa’s facilities. These include a swimming pool, jacuzzi, jeu de boules court, billiard and table tennis, and a life-sized chess board. For exploring the surrounding nature, a safari jeep and mountain bikes are also available for guest use.

Is Villa Kudu located in a Big Five game reserve?

Villa Kudu is located in a private nature reserve that is protected 24/7 by security. The reserve is home to a wide variety of wildlife such as giraffes, zebras and other plains game. The private reserve does not include Big Five animals, allowing guests to safely drive, walk cycle and explore the park during their stay.

How many guests can stay at Villa Kudu?

Villa Kudu accommodates up to 8 guests and is exclusively rented to one group at a time. If you are travelling with a baby, an additional bed can also be arranged.

Are meals and drinks included during our stay?

Breakfast (including coffee, tea and water) are included during your stay. Additional meals such as lunch, dinner or traditional boma dinners can be arranged and prepared upon request. Other beverages, including alcoholic drinks, as well as snacks and special requests related to dietary preferences or allergies can also be arranged upon request, but are not included and may incur an additional charge. These arrangements can be made directly with our on-site staff. Guests are also welcome to dine outside the villa or arrange their own groceries if preferred.

Your stay at Villa Kudu includes a range of services designed to ensure a relaxing and luxurious safari experience. Guests enjoy daily prepared breakfast, housekeeping, and personal assistance from our dedicated staff throughout the entire visit. Upon arrival at Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport, you will be welcomed with an airport meet & greet and transfer to the villa. During your stay, our dedicated staff or a private chef can prepare fine dining experiences, and additional meals such as lunch and dinner can be arranged upon request. Laundry service is also available, and our team is happy to organise safari activities, game drives and excursions to the Kruger National Park or Blyde River Canyon.

Can you guarantee that we will see the Big Five during our stay?

Wildlife sightings in the Kruger National Park and the surrounding private reserves of Hoedspruit are never guaranteed, as animals move freely in their natural habitat. However, the Greater Kruger region is one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five, and experienced guides greatly increase the chances of spotting them during a game drive.

Some safari operators in the area, occasionally offer a complimentary second game drive if guests do not see any of the Big Five during their excursion, depending on their current policy and availability. We will always work with trusted safari partners to maximise your chances of an unforgettable wildlife experience during your stay at Villa Kudu.

Can we combine our stay at Villa Kudu with other locations in South Africa?

Yes. Villa Kudu is well connected to other regions in South Africa thanks to the nearby Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport. From there, you can fly daily to destinations such as Cape Town and Johannesburg, or to other locations by private charter. Travel & Practical

Do we need a plug for charging in Villa Kudu?

No, in principle you do not need world plugs. Extensions are available in the villa so that all electronic equipment that you bring can be charged and used. If there are not enough extensions, you can easily buy them in the supermarket.

Do we need vaccinations or malaria prevention when staying in Hoedspruit?

No. Hoedspruit, where Villa Kudu is located, is generally considered a very low-risk malaria area and malaria vaccinations or preventive medication are typically not required for visitors. This is an advantage compared to some areas deeper inside Kruger National Park, where malaria prevention may be recommended or necessary depending on the location and season. As always, we advise guests to consult their travel health professional for the most up-to-date advice before travelling.

Are refunds available if we cancel close to our arrival date?

For bookings made less than 30 days before check-in, a 50% refund is available for cancellations made up to 7 days before arrival. After this period, no refunds can be provided. If you are forced to cancel the booking due to circumstances, please contact us by telephone or e-mail: contact@villakudu.co.za.

What is the cancellation policy for Villa Kudu?

Cancellations made up to 30 days before the check-in date are eligible for a full refund. For bookings made less than 30 days before check-in, a full refund is offered if the cancellation is made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before the check-in date. In the event of cancellation, Villa Kudu is entitled to offer or rent out the villa again. If the tenant leaves the villa before the end of the rental period, no refund of rent will be made. We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance before booking the villa. If you have taken out cancellation insurance and you cancel the booking for a valid reason for the insurance, the costs may be reclaimed through the insurance.

When is our reservation at Villa Kudu confirmed?

A reservation is confirmed only after receipt of the 10% deposit. If a booking is made less than 30 days before the check-in date, the full amount is required to confirm the reservation.

Do we need to pay a deposit to confirm our booking?

Yes. A 10% deposit is required to secure your reservation at Villa Kudu. Once your booking request is confirmed, we will provide the full booking details and payment information. Please note that your booking will be confirmed only upon receipt of the deposit payment.

Are there times for check-in and check-out?

We usually keep one full day between bookings to allow our team to thoroughly clean the villa and prepare everything for the next guests. If you wish to check-in earlier or check-out later, please discuss this with our staff prior to your arrival at the villa. Once your stay at Villa Kudu has been confirmed, you will also be added to a WhatsApp group where we can easily stay in contact. This allows us to coordinate your stay, answer any questions and help organise your tailor-made program in advance.

How long or short in advance do we have to book our stay at Villa Kudu?

We recommend booking your stay well in advance, especially for peak travel seasons. As Villa Kudu is exclusively rented to one group at a time, availability can be limited during popular travel periods.

Where can we check the availability of Villa Kudu?

Feel free to contact us if the villa is not available in the desired period or if you are in doubt.It may be the case that someone has a temporary hold on the villa and first right of refusal.
